Essentials of Instrumentation & Process Control - April 4-6, 2017- Calgary, AB

Summary

This 3-day Instrumentation and Process Control course covers typical field devices and instruments for measuring and controlling variables in process control. Participants will be introduced to closed-loop feedback control and PID functions. This course also introduces the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

Participants will have an opportunity to build basic PLC ladder logic programs using an Allen-Bradley based PLC simulation software, and use web based software to explore control loop responses and experiment with PID settings.

*Participants will need to bring a PC laptop with wifi capability. During the course, a fully functional version of LogixPro® 500 will be installed.

Who Should Attend


Oil and gas employees who need to improve their understanding of instrumentation and control systems. This course will provide supervisors and newly graduated plant engineers and technologists with the critical information required to improve their basic knowledge of instrumentation and controls systems.
