Mr. Cricchi graduated in 1985 from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering and began his career as a flight test engineer at the Naval Air Test Center, Patuxent River, Md.Following his June 1990 graduation from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School (Class 97), Mr. Cricchi was assigned to the T-45TS program where he served as the lead flight test engineer performing flying qualities, performance and propulsion flight test on the T-45A Goshawk, AV-8B, and T/AV-8B Harrier II aircraft. In April 1994, he was assigned as the T-45 Project and Platform Coordinator where he was responsible for all T-45 test and evaluation activity at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.In May 1997, Mr. Cricchi became the Chief Test Engineer for the Strike Aircraft Test Squadron (VX-23), where he provided test engineering oversight and risk management for flight testing of numerous aircraft and weapons programs, including the F/A-18 Hornet, EA-6B Prowler, T-45 Goshawk, F-14 Tomcat, AV-8B Harrier, X-31 VECTOR, X-32 and X-35 Joint Strike Fighter concept development aircraft, AIM-9X Sidewinder, Joint Direct Attack Munition, and the Joint Standoff Weapon.In April 2001, Mr. Cricchi was appointed Deputy Director for the Test and Evaluation Engineering Department at the Naval Air Systems Command. He was responsible to the Director for the technical efforts of the Department’s personnel supporting test and evaluation of Naval Aviation weapons systems programs.Selected for promotion in March 2005 to the Senior Executive Service, Mr. Cricchi was appointed as the first ever Director for Flight Test Engineering, where he served as the Chief Flight Test Engineer for Naval Aviation. He was responsible for managing and directing more than 600 engineers and engineering technicians performing integrated systems evaluation, experimentation and test across three sites within the Naval Air Systems Command.In November 2005, Mr. Cricchi was appointed to his current position as the second Director, Integrated Systems Evaluation, Experimentation and Test Department. He is responsible for the efforts of over 3,000 flight test engineers, military test pilots and project officers, aircraft maintainers, acquisition professionals, and associated contractor support personnel performing flight test and experimentation for the Naval Aviation Enterprise and other customers. Mr. Cricchi’s responsibilities include the operation of two test air wings with approximately 200 aircraft and theU.S. Naval Test Pilot School.Mr. Cricchi has over 25 years in civilian service and is a member of the International Test and Evaluation Association and the Society of Flight Test Engineers.
