Officers taking this course will receive 20 continuing training hours through the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board!


The Exploring School Safety Strategies Course is a two-and-a half day course designed for those who work in the law enforcement and school administration arena.  It provides a comprehensive approach to enhancing school safety and security. Participants will learn how to improve transportation, signage, and reduce fear for school safety. They will learn how to conduct a security safety survey and rely on all participants’ expertise to make recommendations to enhance school safety and comfort of students and staff. The course will also explore the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and how they can be used to improve the safety and security of a school.
