 THERAPISTS: Please Note

According to the Certification Board for Music Therapists, relevant sessions attended at the Expressive Therapies Summit can be claimed as "non-approved" educational courses toward continuing music therapy education credits (CMTE). Please refer to the recertification requirements regarding Board Certification domains, documentation required, and related information.

 



DRAMA THERAPISTS: Please Note

✢ According to the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA), continuing education credits in drama therapy and/or mental health, creative arts therapies, psychology and psychological process, diversity and social and cultural foundations, supervision, research and evaluation earned through this event can be applied toward the continuing education requirement for maintaining the RDT or RDT/BCT.



DANCE/MOVEMENT THERAPISTS: Please Note

✢ According to the Dance/Movement Therapy Certification Board (DMTCB), relevant sessions attended may be applied toward continuing education requirements earned at this event.  Please refer to the Recertification Requirements for R-DMT and BC-DMT for guidelines and related information.

 




NEW YORK STATE SOCIAL WORKERS

Available at no charge courtesy of New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work

has received conditional approval from the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work to offer continuing education to licensed social workers, effective August 1, 2015. The Department may subsequently notify the provider that a particular course or courses is/are not acceptable. This conditional approval is in effect until the Department makes a final determination to approve or deny the provider application. 

Instruction provided is to assist social workers in working with other professions; it does not authorize the social worker to engage in the practice of any other profession, except as allowed by the Education Law.

Expressive Media Inc. has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6697. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Expressive Media Inc. is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. 

[Please Note: NBCC credit is not available to presenters, only participants.  Presenters may attend other sessions presented by other people for credit, however, they may not receive credit for teaching. If the presenter is an NCC, they can submit their presentation hours for their NCC recertification if they are audited, but credit is not guaranteed.]

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES)

 

ASWB
SOCIAL WORKERS 

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES), provider #1117 is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) through the Approval Continuing Education (ACE) Program. CES maintains responsibility for these programs. ASWB approval period: 10/15/15 through 10/15/18. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits. Social Workers participating in this course will receive clinical continuing education clock hours.

Many other states will accept our programs for continuing education credits for Social Workers. Please contact your state board if you have concerns about CE credit. All Social Workers attending programs that have been awarded Social Work Continuing Education from CES will receive a Certificate upon completion.
 


APA

PSYCHOLOGISTS

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to offer continuing education credit programs. CES maintains responsibility for this program. Psychologists earn 1 hour of CE credit for each clock hour of training.



MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPISTS

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) can grant continuing education credit to Marriage & Family Therapists in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IN, IA, KS, ME, MD, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NC, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA AND WI, WY. CES maintains responsibility for these programs. Marriage and Family therapists completing this program will receive continuing education hours of credit.



NURSES

As an APA approved provider, CES programs are accepted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). These courses can be utilized by nurses to renew their certification and will be accepted by the ANCC. Every state Board of Nursing accepts ANCC approved programs except California and Iowa, however CES is also an approved Continuing Education provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider # CEP15567) which is also accepted by the Iowa Board of Nursing. Nurses completing this program receive continuing education hours of credit.

Available only to licensed mental health practitioners or full-time graduate students in a graduate mental health program


PLAY THERAPISTS (only)

Available only to licensed mental health practitioners or full-time graduate students in a graduate mental health program


Starbright Training Institute (STI) is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to play therapy. The course will provide one CEU per hour.  APT Approved Provider #96-029. STI maintains responsibility for the program.

NOTE: Only those sessions specifically designated for APT credits (below the session description on the Summit schedule pages) are eligible for APT credits.

CERTIFIED CHILD LIFE SPECIALISTS: Please Note

For Certified Child Life Specialists (CCLSs), hours may be applied toward recertification if session content is related to the Exam Content Outline and a certificate of attendance is obtained. Professional Development Units (PDUs) are earned based on 1 educational contact hour = 1 PDU.
