SYNOPSIS:
Do you use Cone-Beam CT when diagnosing and treatment planning your patients? Today three-dimensional imaging techniques allow the restorative dentist and the orthodontist to use the face as a reference when restoring or moving teeth. The position of the maxillary incisor in relation to the lips is paramount to diagnose and treatment plan both simple and inter-disciplinary cases. This one-day course will allow practitioners to incorporate photography, three-dimensional imaging and diagnostic systems into their dental practice in order to achieve better and more predictable outcomes. TOPICS TO BE COVERED:

  • CBCT imaging concepts and clinical applications of 3D images.
  • Customized appliances and esthetics during orthodontic treatment.
  • Interdisciplinary management of gingival smile: The ortho/perio connection.
  • Deficient incisor exposure at rest and during speech. 


UPON COMPLETION YOU WILL:

  • Understand imaging concepts.
  • Know new applications of multimodal images.
  • Outline research and future clinical directions of 3D applications.
  • Know the latest technological applications to enhance orthodontic treatment accuracy.
  • Know the reasons behind appliance selection and customization.
  • Evaluate the accuracy / precision of customized lingual orthodontic.
  • Know how to classify and diagnose gingival display during smile.
  • Be familiar with the sequence and timing of treatment.
  • Know the guidelines for optimal esthetics.
