Kickstart your scholarly writing projects by joining the Faculty Writing Community. Research demonstrates that scholarly writing groups that meet regularly can help increase participants’ writing productivity substantially (Boice 1983, Elbow and Sorcinelli 2006, Thomas 2005). Having an interdisciplinary peer group that writes together, shares and critiques ideas, and supports one another can keep our writing projects from getting overtaken by all of our other priorities. Most of our weekly meeting time will be spent writing, but we’ll occasionally take time to discuss best practices, how to develop and set achievable writing goals, and read some of the most important research on scholarly writing. We’ll meet once per week, but we’ll also keep ourselves accountable to our goals by communicating online. Join this weekly group and meet your writing goals! Wednesday mornings from 9:00 - 10:00 AM 7-266B.
