Faith Alive 2012--2014

There are six (6) sessions.
Each session runs from 7pm on Friday night to noon on Sunday and costs $200 which includes lodging, meals and materials.

September 14--16, 2012: Who Is the God Who Calls Us?

Spend the weekend exploring who God is and the role God plays in our lives.

Leader: Bishop Linda Lee

Bishop Linda Lee is the Resident Bishop of the Wisconsin Annual Conference. Her minstry has included being a chaplain, pastor, and speaker at several schools, retreats and conferences. A contributing writer for a number of publications, Bishop Lee served as chair of the Black Clergywomen of the United Methodist Church.

January 18--20, 2013: What Is My Story?

Discover your story and how you can honor it. Join others in discusssing faith and our Christian 'story'.

Leader: Rev. Grace Imathiu

As an evangelistic preacher and teacher of the Bible, Rev. Grace Imathiu from Nairobi, Kenya is in demand around the world. She is pastor of First United Methodist Church in Neenah-Menasha and has seved in Kenya, Germany, Denmark, the Bahamas, Australia, Malaysia, Brazil, and England.

April 19--21, 2013: Civility: Conflict Prevention and Resolution

Learn how to use acts of civility for preventing and resolving conflicts in life.

Leader: Don Mendenhall

Don Mendenhall is a life coach and is well known for challenging laity and the church to new forms of ministry. He served on staff for both the Wisconsin and Iowa Annual Conferences.

September 13--15, 2013: Inclusiveness

Discuss the many meanings and ways of being inclusive and exclusive. Discover how our choices affect living faithfully in relationship to all in our community.

Leader: Rev. Amy De Long

Rev. Amy De Long is a pastor in the Wisconsin Annual Conference and is presently on special appointment to the Kairos CoMotion. She is editor and co-author of "The Loyal Opposition: Struggling with the Church on Homosexuality." She will discuss all the "isms" and how we can be a more inclusive society.

January 17--19, 2013: Social Justice Issues

Discuss ways to get involved in making a difference in your community. This includes a look at the many issues related to social injustice, such as poverty, health care, and hunger.

Leader: Bob Connolly

Bob Connolly is a partner of The James Company, a fund-raising consulting firm. He also teaches courses on community organizing at the University of Wisconsin -- Milwaukee.

April 25--27, 2013: Hearing God's Call/Discernment and Celebration
Learn to hear God's call and discern how your faith can be integrated into your lifestyle.

Leader: Rev. Stan Ling

Rev. Stan Ling is former pastor at Messiah UMC in Ohio. He enjoys inviting people into places of discovery, exploration, and response in discernment of God's call and use of spiritual gifts.
