Advanced Mindfulness: From Formless Practice to Unbound Awareness
(8 week program)

Mindfulness training teaches us to abide in our most essential nature. The path might begin by training attention to focus gently on the sensation of breath as a way to begin to create inner stillness and peace. However, this is not the end of the journey. Advanced mindfulness practice teaches us to completely let go of focusing and rest openly in awareness itself. It is about making contact with our most basic nature, unconditional and unlimited, vividly alive and awake.

This class will offer advanced meditation students an opportunity to explore the practice of formless meditation as a path towards awakening.


  • a minimum of 2 years of regular meditation practice OR participation in a 5-day teacher-led silent retreat
  • AND a commitment to a daily practice for a minimum of 30 minutes per day during the month preceding the class, and for the duration of this program.

Enhancing Your Mindfulness: LovingKindness Meditation (4 week program)

*Registration Deadline: Wednesday, October 26th

The practice of Loving Kindness, a companion to mindfulness meditation, dissolves the obstacles that disconnect us from the inherent positive qualities and the emotional barriers that separate us from others. When we feel stressed, overwhelmed and alienated we lose contact with our own warmth and ability to care for others. Loving Kindness reconnects us to the boundless joy and spaciousness that is a natural part of our true nature. The practice of Loving Kindness allows us to rediscover the warmth that nourishes ourselves and benefits others. This four week program explores the use of imagery, words and feelings to open the caring and compassion within our hearts. It is one of the "Enhance Your Mindfulness" advanced course offerings presented by the Penn Program for Mindfulness to support your continuing mindfulness practice
