2017 sees some significant changes to the form, content and approach of our ever popular Financial and Management Reporting workshops.Whilst the Financial Reporting Workshop will continue in a similar way to previous years the Management Reporting Workshop will be offered as three different modules. Participants are free to choose whichever one (or more) they wish to attend with discounts offered for attendance at more than one.In addition, our Financial Reporting Model has been significantly enhanced and is available across our Interactive Client Platform as will be all workshop materials. This will see all attendees receive a unique login code which will enable real time updates for updates after the workshop. This will no longer require us to provide a USB to participants.
Key topics are as follows:Financial Reporting Workshop
• Detailed analysis of new/updated Accounting Standards to examine the many imminent changes associated with: o AASB124 – Related party disclosures. These disclosures are required from 30 June 2017 and we will detail both the approach you need to take as well as suggested disclosure formats to meet your obligations. o AASB1058 – this will impact on a number of areas and are likely to have a significant impact on income recognition for local governments in ensuing years. We will examine the key area to allow you to prepare properly. o AASB16 - Leases • Brief overview/update with respect to: o Ratios especially interpretation o Fair Value especially depreciation impacts • Update to the Financial Reporting Model incorporating discussion on accounting standard changes. • Other "Hot Topics" including discussion around recent “scam”/fraud related activities, credit cards and procurement procedures.Management Reporting WorkshopsParticipants will be able to choose from the following separate workshops:Workshop One - Reporting
• Terminology and Reporting Framework; • End of Month Practices and Procedures; • End of Month Balancing; • Monitoring and Assessing Allocations; and • Somewhere Monthly Report Model (including updates).
Workshop Two – Financial Management and Governance
• Financial Policies; • Audit, Risk Management and Compliance; • Internal Controls; • Performance Reporting; and • Collaborative Models and Regional Subsidiaries.
Workshop Three – Financial Sustainability
• Long Term Financial Planning; • Financial Ratios and FHI; • Integrated Planning and Reporting; and • Introduction to Service Level Planning.

The Workshops will be run at the following location and time:
VENUE: Perth Zoo Function Centre, 20 Labouchere Road, South Perth WA 6151
PARKING: Paid parking is available in the main parking area on Labouchere Road. The machine accepts coins and credit card. The function centre is located directly across the road.
TIME: 8:30am for 9:00am Start
