Forensic Interviewing Block III: Essential Issues of Forensic Interviewing & Preparing for Court

This intermediate forensic interviewer training spans two (2) days and is the third and final component of CACTX’s Forensic Interviewing Core Curriculum. Block III is specifically designed for interviewers who conduct forensic interviews as part of a multidisciplinary team in a children's advocacy center setting.

Participants will study factors that impact the interview and disclosure process including memory, trauma, and suggestibility as well as become familiar with the courtroom process. The curriculum highlights strategies for enhancing the credibility of forensic interviewers and the forensic interview process.

Format: This highly interactive program includes lecture and discussion, observation of actual interviews, the study of current literature and research articles, and an experiential mock testimony practicum conducted by child abuse prosecutors.*

*Please note this training will cover how to conduct forensic interviews in English; it will not provide a process for conducting interviews in other languages.
