FREE 24-Hour Basic Crime Prevention Skill-building Training Course coming to Maryland! Hosted by the MD Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention, the MD Police and Correctional Training Commissions, and the MD Community Crime Prevention Institute

Officers attending will receive 21.5 in-service hours from the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions

The Basic Crime Prevention Course is designed for those who work in the law enforcement and crime prevention arena and provides an introduction to opportunity based crime prevention. The training will prepare participants to understand and deliver basic crime prevention services when they return to their home community. Participants will learn about the development of crime prevention and understand the various types of crime prevention and which techniques are best. Participants will begin to see how researching and keeping current data on crime trends can aid in preventing future crime. This training is conducted through lecture, group exercises and practical group exercise with teams conducting and reporting on security assessments.
