This workshop examines the process of writing journal manuscripts beginning with your idea through the submission of your paper, responding to peer reviews, and publication of the manuscript. You will receive hands-on experience in selecting possible journals for submission of a manuscript. The workshop includes a discussion of writing different types of manuscripts, tips for writing, open access and predatory journals, other considerations relevant to publishing journal manuscripts, and steps in securing a publisher and writing a book.
We encourage you to bring a device you can use to search the internet for one of the learning activities, and come with a journal manuscript idea in mind so you’ll leave with helpful ideas of which journals are likely to be interested in your submission.
Registered nurses who work in clinical, educational, research, administrative, quality improvement, and community settings. Professionals from other health affair disciplines are welcome to attend; however, the workshop will focus on nursing journals and publications.
