Funder Roundtable

Program Description:
Corporations and foundations play a critical role in our community’s philanthropic landscape. They provide five and six-figure grants and event sponsorships and support our organizations through volunteerism. But understanding how they give can be difficult, and approaching and interacting with corporate and foundation funders can be intimidating.

Join us for a panel with key representatives from several of our community’s valuable corporate and foundation donors to hear directly from them what they want to fund, what they value in their nonprofit partners, and how they would prefer you approach them for funding. Now is your chance to meet the funders and get your pressing questions asked.

Matt Cervantes, Director of Health Programs, Sierra Health Foundation. Matt manages the Positive Youth Justice Initiative, a statewide effort the transform youth justice policy and practice; the Leadership Development for Racial Equity organizational capacity building program; and all Boys and Young Men of Color programming. He is a CSU Sacramento graduate in Social Work.

Cameron Law, Executive Director, Social Venture Partners in Sacramento. With experience in venture capital and management consulting, Cameron leverages leaders in business, education, and the arts to create sustainable and scalable impact by reinventing philanthropy. Cameron is a grad of UC Davis and the University of Queensland, Australia.
