GCU Hands On STEM Workshops


Workshop facilitator Amanda Hughens is the K-12 STEM outreach manager at Grand Canyon University. For more than 20 years, Amanda has been a leader in STEM education both in public and private schools, where she has been an advocate for exploring the inquiry-learning process to solve real-world problems. At GCU, Amanda is instrumental in aligning the university mission, career skills and Arizona standards to create engaging STEM opportunities for K-12 educators and students. Always pursuing the latest advancement in technology, Amanda served as the district educational technology director and has held various positions at Apple, Swift Microscopes and the AZ K-12 Center, providing professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators.
