Annual Conference of the Geoscience Society of New Zealand
Lake Wanaka Centre, Wanaka
Monday 28 November - Thursday 1 December 2016
Update: Due to cancellations caused by commitments to work on the recent earthquakes there has been a number of changes to the Programme. See below or on the programme page. Changes will also be announced on the day.
This year the conference will be held in Wanaka, hosted by the Department of Geology, University of Otago and representatives from the Dunedin office of GNS Science. The conference will commence with an ice breaker on Monday 28 November followed by three full days of presentations. This years conference will celebrate the centenary of William Noel Benson's appointment as Professor of Geology at Otago. All presentations will be in the Lake Wanaka Centre. As well as oral and poster presentations a number of pre and post conference field trips are planned.
New Zealand Geosciences conferences are a great venue for students to present their research in a friendly and supportive environment. We encourage as many students as possible to attend.
