Global Challenges and Opportunities
Facing Children, Youth and Families.
A conference exploring global issues in education, health and human rights.
Wheelock College, an institution on the cutting edge of preparing professionals to work with children and families across the globe, stands on the premise that every child's equal and full access to education and economic, physical and emotional health is a basic human right. Thus the College's 2013 International Conference will address three strands of importance to the global community: education, health, and human rights.

Addressing three interwoven strands of importance to the global community: education, health, and human rights, the conference is attracting advocates, educators, political leaders, and the heads of non-profits and NGOs from around the world both as speakers and attendees. Conference participants will engage with others compelled to take action and gain an understanding of the practices and policies with the greatest impact on children, youth and families worldwide.
The Human Rights strand will address the United Nations’ definition
of human rights and the implications for children and youth in light
of their vulnerability to exploitation, their lack of political,
economic, and legal power, and the ways we can strategize and
organize to combat abuse and transform children’s lives and the
lives of their families and their communities.
