Going Viral: Impact and Implications of the 1918 Influenza Pandemic

Participants may register for the symposium from January 22-March 22.

Registration includes:

  • admission to events on Thursday and Friday;
  • breakfast on Thursday and Friday;
  • lunch and an afternoon-break service on Thursday;
  • evening reception on Thursday;
  • admission to the 50th Annual Fred T. Foard Jr. Memorial Lecture; and
  • a conference program.

There is no additional registration fee to attend the pre-symposium event Wednesday, April 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Wilson Library on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. However, you’ll need to sign up separately (here) due to space limitations. The event will include a reception and program highlighting how the 1918 influenza pandemic affected both the UNC-Chapel Hill community and the life and work of Thomas Wolfe, UNC alumnus and author of the classic American novel, Look Homeward, Angel.

Continuing Education Units are available for an additional $10.00. (See registration fees below.)
