One of the ways we in Pittsburgh and across southwestern Pennsylvania set ourselves apart from other regions is our appreciation for the power of the nonprofit sector in community life. For more than a decade, thousands of amazing organizations have been enthusiastic participants in a biennial nonprofit summit. This year, we want attendees to learn about innovative approaches in fulfilling missions and to move beyond the boundaries of their sectors to know the value of multi-disciplinary alliances.

Join us for this unique, intensive and collaborative enrichment opportunity to learn new skills and tactics for achieving measurable success based on strategy, partnership, data and hard work.

Early bird registration ended Oct. 10; regular registration closes Nov. 22; on-site registration is Dec. 3.

NEW FOR 2019 – A Two-year ENGAGEMENT

The goal in 2019, Building a Region that Works … for Everyone, will require us all to engage in capacity building, collaboration, building our own knowledge, and the use of compilation and data. We will train, match, and support our regional nonprofit organizations to reach all of their goals.

As such, the 2019 GPNP Summit will be so much more this year: more than one day.  In fact, this year’s Summit includes:

  • Virtual Days (August through November 2019) – Time for you to self-study the topics that will be presented at the on-site Summit day on Dec. 3.  Get background information on forward thinking. Attend webinars. Watch videos. Think about your organization's position collectively in SWPA.  Look at the "Pre-Summit Webinars" and “Summit Virtual Days” tab to see the list in our LIVE webinars and library!

  • Identify potential collaboration partners.  As you are thinking about the type of organizations that could help you to 100% reach your goal, you can look on this site to see who will be attending the Summit who you can meet and perhaps collaborate within your programming.  The goal is to leave the Summit with a plan and the partners you need to actualize your plan.  Look at the “See Who is Registered” tab to decide who you want to meet with at the Summit.

  • On-Site Summit (Dec. 3, 2019) – Global, national and local speakers will discuss concrete actions that look to the future and achieve success.  And, in each breakout session, you will have an opportunity to discuss with your colleagues, the presenters and high profile facilitators how you will take action based on the presentation you just heard.  Yes, you will be working toward your own program goals during this Summit.  In fact, the final session will enable you to “pitch” your ideas to colleagues and receive comments.  Look at the “Dec. 3rd On-Site Agenda" tab for details.

  • Dashboard Participation (December 2019 – December 2021) – Over the next two years, The Forbes Funds and GPNP will create and manage a dashboard of information that will help you see successful practices in our own sector. More information to come on the indicators and metrics we will be collecting and sharing with you.
