Grain Hedging I: is designed to educate and enlighten participants about hedging, trading, and grain merchandising.  There will be a basic review of commodity terms and concepts and then application with actual examples of commodity merchandising.  This class is very beneficial to those new to the business or who work in support functions and need a better understanding of the trading side of the business. 

Course Intstructor:

Joe Lardy, Research Manager, CHS Hedging  Lardy analyzes a broad range of data that  could potentially affect commodity markets, provides forecasts and commentray for government-issued reports, and offers recommendations and insight to help commercial and producer customers make better hedging decisions.  Joe has 20 years in the ag industry.  Before coming to CHS in 2014, he was with Cargill in the risk management group where he worked on developing trading strategies and marketing commodity insights to hedge fund customers.
