School of Information Technology & Computing Presents:
Hackathon: High School Division
Join us March 23, 2013 for a Programming Contest & Mobile App Development Workshop.
Students must choose only one activity in the registration process.
If you are interested in math, logic, and have some programming experience the Programming Contest is for you. Participate individually or bring your own team. Inspired by the ACM International Programming contest and the ACU Lifeline Programming Contest (College), each team of 3 programmers will have 1 computer, 8 problems, 3 hours, and 3 lifelines. Lifelines, a timeout with a coach or mentor, allow teams to confer with the coach for a few minutes to get their bearings and get unstuck. Coaches will have a whiteboard and a few minutes to brain-storm, diagram, critique, and focus their team.
Languages used to solve problems include: Java, Python, C++.
If you are interested in design, video, mobile apps, and gaming, the Mobile App Development Workshop is for you. Participate individually and bring your friends. Whether you have built your own apps before or have no experience at all this workshop is for you. Join Dr. Brian Burton as he teaches about Mobile App Development and you get hands on experience of what the Digital Entertainment world offers.
Early Registration (by March 1): $12 per person.
Regular Registration (by March 18): $15 per person.
Team Registration: please register one team member and the rest of the team members as additional guests in the registration process.
