Bio: Charlotte O. McKines holds the position of Global Vice President, Marketing Communications & Channel Strategy, a new organization that integrates all channels (traditional, digital and contact center) to optimize the marketing mix, redefine the customer engagement strategy, drive revenue and differentiate Merck. She also continues to lead the creative development, advertising, agency management and media planning and buying groups.

Linda Brunner, Vice President, Web Operations Management, Siemens Healthcare
Bio: Linda has over 25 years combined experience in Interactive Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Marketing Communications, Product Development, and R&D. In her current role, Linda and her team are responsible for driving ongoing customer-centric improvements to maximize ROI from all online touch points, including management of Siemens Healthcare’s web properties. As part of this, the team defines strategic direction and provides governance for social media. Linda joined Siemens through acquisition of Bayer Healthcare Diagnostics Division, and has held positions of increasing scope and responsibility. Previously, Linda was Director at Perkin Elmer, where she led Product Marketing professionals responsible for the marketing, development and global commercialization of several product lines. Linda started out as a Research Scientist with organizations such as Pfizer, Ciba-Geigy and Novartis. She authored over 15 scientific papers, served on the editorial board of J Chrom/Biomed Appl; and, received a Pioneer in Laboratory Automation award. She holds degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Robin Carey, CEO and Cofounder, Social Media Today, LLC
Bio: Robin’s eighteen-year history of working with marketing executives, most recently with BusinessWeek magazine, has provided her with strong insight into the most efficient use of communications tools on topics ranging from corporate compliance to corporate volunteering, from business energy needs to business risk management. Robin is now applying her experience in a new communications medium – building business-oriented online communities. In 2007, Robin cofounded Social Media Today, one of the first companies to build and manage online BtoB communities that connect large organizations with people they want to influence, using engagement and lead generation as key metrics of success. Social Media Today has created and manages five active business communities, Social Media Today, MyVenturePad, and The Energy Collective, among them.
Peter Gannon, Regional Vice President, Within3Bio: Peter is 16-year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry with exclusive focus in the last 12 years in digital HCP communications. He has always enjoyed working with brands and companies with challenging market situations and providing strategic consultation and communication solutions that ensure a comprehensive integrated approach to business. Peter's passion for technology and innovation is eclipsed only by his belief that healthcare and healthcare professionals can communicate more efficiently and effectively to yield mutual benefit. Throughout his career he has been charged with business development and strategic leadership for companies, products, and campaigns. His career began with various roles on the healthcare agency side managing high-profile accounts for Merck, Janssen, Lilly, BMS, Genentech, Gilead, and Pfizer to name a few. After holding a senior management position at Hyphen, Peter ventured into business development working to establish Sermo's presence in the pharmaceutical space, working closely with clients to develop multi-channel HCP engagement campaigns at PeerDirect, and utilizing both business development and strategic insights in various consulting capacities. His technology expertise, coupled with strategic insights, led Peter to join Within3 in 2010 to lead a team in business development and work with the executive team to continue growth and advance uptake of social/mobile solutions for the healthcare industry.

Brian McGowan, Ph.D., Columnist, Author & Education Technology Consultant
Bio: Brian McGowan, Ph.D. is a columnist, author, and education technology consultant. Dr. McGowan earned his Doctorate in Cardiovascular Physiology at Temple University School of Medicine. While at Temple, he served as a member of the Heart Failure and Transplant Teams at Temple University Hospital and participated in nearly 500 human heart transplant and LVAD-placement operations. Dr. McGowan completed Post-doctoral Fellowships in Cardiothoracic Surgery Research at the Medical University of South Carolina and in Translational Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Until the fall of 2007, Dr. McGowan served as Director for a graduate course in Medical Physiology at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. Dr. McGowan has served in various positions of leadership at HealthAnswers, Inc.; Acumentis, LLC.; Cephalon; Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and most recently Pfizer, Inc. Dr. McGowan is a member of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions; served as Founding Chair of the Alliance’s Emerging Technologies in Education Committee; and is a co-Founder and moderator of the weekly #CMEchat. Dr. McGowan is the currently the social media columnist for Medical Meetings magazine and has just completed his first book, “#SocialQI: Simple Solutions to Improve Your Healthcare” to be released by No Limit Publishing in the late summer/early fall.
