Many divorces result in ongoing high conflict. Communication between parents in these types of divorces is non-existent or explosive. These types of conflict culminate in frequent court appearances, calls to the police, child protective services and applications for Personal Protection Orders. Sometimes these actions are appropriate but are often only as a result of increasing animosity between the parents. Children in these families are constantly caught in the crossfire. They often develop psychiatric symptoms and serious behavior problems affecting home adjustment and school achievement.
In this workshop, Jerome Price uses the methods presented in his books, Defusing the High Conflict Divorce and Take Control of Your Divorce, to intervene with these families and defuse the conflict. Whether you see challenging divorce cases or want to help children you treat who are embroiled in such conflicts, this workshop will expand your repertoire and increase your success level with a wide range of clients.
This workshop consists of lecture, skill-building exercises and videotaped examples of actual cases.
