This is a one-day training repeated on three dates

Description

This training will focus on the challenges and benefits of doing community-based work and home visits. The session will include: 

  • Staff and patient safety and confidentiality
  • Discussion of how to respect people’s homes and the privilege of entering them
  • Planning for visits and preparation for the first visit, including boundary-setting
  • Review of safety policies for both outreach and home-based work
  • Practice building rapport while doing outreach
  • Best practices in engaging high risk clients in the community

 

Schedule

Each training will start at 9:30 AM and end at 3:00 PM. Coffee will be provided in the morning, and lunch will be provided in the afternoon.
