TCSA announces its charter start-up training series for educational reformers and entrepreneurs.This one-day training session is designed for all persons thinking about applying for a charter school through the Commissioner of Education and the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE).This eight-hour advanced workshop aims to empower future charter leaders with knowledge for the development of a competitive charter application and an effective charter school. This session will provide attendees with a better understanding of the legal, operational, and educational considerations to apply for a charter school in Texas, in light of the changes brought by Senate Bill 2 and instituted by new TEA rules. We will address important items of the new charter application and highlight critical areas. Pre-requisites: Must have a draft of a Statement of Need and summary statement of the pedagogy that makes your proposed school innovative (e.g., what is your position on how students best learn and hence how is your school better?). This session is not targeted for those just starting to consider whether applying for a charter school is for them.
Target Audience: Ideal for individuals/teams seeking Texas specific information about the charter application process and selected categories of the application submitted to TEA, who meet the state criteria to apply for a Generation 20 charter and are in a position to submit an application (e.g., 501(c)(3) determination letter, fund raising, etc.).
Fees & Registration Types: Registration is based on a team basis. Pay the applicable registration fee and bring up to 3 members of your team (e.g., primary registrant + 2 guests). Payment must be received before the start of the session.
