Description

This two-day training is an interactive small group training intended to instruct programmatic front line staff on how to conduct a sexual risk assessment. Participants will learn about the beneficial role of active listening in communication, strategies to elicit pertinent information regarding sexual behaviors, and how to avoid assumptions and judgements.

The overall goal of this program is to increase front line staff capacity to conduct effective sexual risk assessments.  

Objectives:  

  • As a result of attending this training participants will
  • Increase comfort and capacity using sexual language of clients
  • Explore the role judgements and assumptions can play in sexual risk assessments
  • Increase active listening skills
  • Increase participants' level of interviewing skills

Parking

Attendees must park in the South (side) or rear parking lot and enter through door C, when they ring the doorbell, the Switchboard or Security personnel will instruct them to the Conference space you reserved. (Chadwick Room)

Public Transportation 

Onsite, public transportation pick-up is serviced by the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority http://www.pvta.com/  Route R10. Drop off, while not onsite, is proximate to the facility, approximately 200 yards away.
