Are you a HR manager with experience endorsing the principles of Charter and Code and implementing the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) in your organisation? What is your experience of the implementation so far? Sign up for the Mutual Learning Seminars (MLS)1 to discuss important aspects of the HRS4R and the principles of Charter and Code with like-minded people. Come and share your experiences of the 5-step procedure to implement the HRS4R and help our independent experts improve it. The seminars, in the form of participatory meetings, will focus on strengthening the ‘external assessment of the institution - step 5’ and on how to refine steps 1 to 4 of the current procedure, based on previous experiences and lessons learnt. We will share creative and innovative, and yet feasible, ideas on the key elements needed to ‘strengthen’ the full HRS4R procedure (steps 1 to 5). A rapporteur, knowledgeable in this field, will cover both seminars and will draft a report to provide input for the series of expert workshops organised throughout 2015. The European Commission is committed to increasing the attractiveness of research careers in Europe and to improving employment and working conditions for researchers. Further work is necessary to implement a sound Human Resources Strategy for Researchers, based upon the uptake of the Charter and Code concept.
