The IDC Interactive Institutes 2018 - Building a Culture of High-Quality Part B Data will support states in improving the quality and use of IDEA 618 and 616 data at the state and local levels. Data collection, analysis, reporting, use, and State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP) evaluation will be the primary content highlighted.


The Interactive Institutes will present opportunities for state teams to actively engage with each other and TA providers through interactive peer-to-peer formats. Participants will share and learn through engaging sessions that highlight processes, practices, and tools designed to achieve and maintain the high-quality Part B IDEA data that serve as a foundation for improving results for children and youth with disabilities.

Goal

Strengthen state staff capacity to create a culture that values, produces, and uses high-quality data at state and local levels to achieve measurable and sustainable results for children and youth with disabilities.

Outcomes

  • Acquire understanding from knowledgeable participants and TA specialists about what it means to have high-quality data and why high-quality data is important.
  • Discover effective practices and tools and products to improve data collection, analysis, reporting, and use.
  • Engage in active dialogue with peers and TA providers around a broad range of data quality and SSIP evaluation issues.
  • Explore indicators and elements of data quality from the IDC Part B Data System Framework and the major types of activities that will support and promote high-quality data.
  • Receive practical feedback for improvement of data processes and practices.
  • Increase knowledge of how to report and use evaluation results for data-driven decisionmaking and continuous improvement.
