Questions & Answers

Question: I applied for an event today. What happens next?
Answer:

Please allow up to three weeks to receive approval/denial of your event request with additional instructions.  Keep in mind, events will not be approved unless payment in full has been received.  If it has been three weeks, your event is paid in full, and you have not received an update on your event, please contact Dana Johnston at djohnston@idsociety.org or 703-740-4789.

IDWeek will work with hotels and the convention center to assign space as quickly as possible.  Space is expected to be assigned in early July.  Some events must also be approved by the program committee.  Waiting for responses from the committee, convention center, and hotels can take longer than expected.  Thank you for your patience.

Question: What times am I permitted to have a social function, allied society staff meeting, or closed investigator meeting that do not compete with IDWeek Official Programming?
Answer: Please refer to the blackout times.
Question: How many attendees can we expect at our satellite symposium?
Answer:

Unfortunately, because there are so many variables that determine attendance (i.e. topic, day, time of day, other non-affiliated events, etc.), IDSA cannot provide you with an estimated attendance.  In 2018, surveyed satellite symposia organizers reported between 76- 300+ participants.  Hosts sent 1-2 preshow mailers to the registered attendee list.  In 2017, surveyed satellite symposia organizers reported between 175-438 in attendance.  Some sent only one preshow mailer and others sent two.  In 2016, surveyed satellite symposia organizers reported between 70-480 in attendance.  Some sent only one preshow mailer and others sent up to four.

Question: Does IDWeek allow door drops?
