IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD)

(Prerequisite: IICRC Water Restoration Technician Certification)

This course is offered in a 3- day format.  The Applied Structural Drying course covers the effective, efficient and timely drying of water-damaged structures and contents, using comprehensive classroom and hands-on training, in order to facilitate appropriate decision-making within a restorative drying environment. Students will experience live hands on use of instruments, extraction systems, drying equipment, and chemistry use in an actual flooded building situation.

The Applied Structural Drying course is designed to teach restorers who have completed an intensive hands-on course in how to dry complete structures. It is called Applied Structural Drying because students actually "apply" new drying techniques as they learn them.

If you like hands on learning, then this class is for you. In this 3 day class you will receive both hands on and classroom lecture using all the latest in drying technology.  You will actually extract, set up drying equipment, and daily monitor the drying progress in our flood house.

Learn how to:
  • extract properly using surface, sub surface, and weighted extraction tools
  • dry in place
  • directed heat application
  • proper equipment placement
  • use meters to give you the information you need
  • dry hardwood flooring
  • dry ceramic tile
  • dry cabinetry with no need for removal
  • dry drywall and insulation without need for demolition
  • use structural cavity drying systems
  • Desiccant and LGR use
  • and so much more...

If you are ready to take your business to the next level or just need an update on new technology this class is for you. As always our goal is to give you real world information that you can take back to your business and implement from day one not just to teach theory.
