Designed for lawyers and contracting professionals, this course will examine important Government contracts claims decisions from 2016. Drawing from many years of experience, the instructors (Justin Ganderson and Jason Workmaster of Covington & Burling LLP) will provide key insights about recent decisions and trends, and offer practical tips based on the outcomes of these decisions – tips that will help federal government contractors (and subcontractors) successfully establish, prosecute and defend against Contract Disputes Act (CDA) claims. Having a strong command of recent case law developments and trends – from jurisdictional issues to fraud counterclaims and everything in between – is critical to maximizing potential recovery and defending against potential government claims or counterclaims. Moreover, a good knowledge base often can lead to an amicable resolution of a potential claim well prior to litigation, or at the very least, help narrow the scope of the dispute.
