October 18 & 19, 2013 Insight 2013 is a collaborative effort between VDOE’s Training and Technical Assistance Center at VCU, Autism Society Central Virginia, and the VCU Autism Center for Excellence. We are very excited to be bringing in Peter Gerhardt!
Dr. Peter Gerhardt Managing Partner of JPG Autism Consulting, LLC which provides community referenced, behaviorally-based consultation and intervention to adolescents and adults with an autism spectrum disorder. In that capacity he provides consultation services and professional trainings both nationally and internationally. Dr. Gerhardt is the Founding Chair of the Scientific Council for the Organization for Autism Research and has served in that position for the past 11 years. Dr. Gerhardt has over 30 years experience utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in support of adolescents and adults with ASD in educational, employment, residential, and community-based settings. He is the Co-Editor (with Daniel Crimmins) of, “Social Skills and Adaptive Behavior in ASD” recently published by Brookes Publishing. He is the author, or co-author, of a variety of articles and book chapters on the needs of adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Gerhardt serves on the Editorial Board of Behavior Analysis in Practice and on numerous professional advisory boards. Dr. Gerhardt received his doctorate from the Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey Graduate School of Education.
Friday and Saturday are open to all audiences, including special educators, general educators, related service providers, family members, and adult service providers.
