Adele Lafrance, PhD is an Associate Professor at Laurentian University and co-developer of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy. She is a founding member of the International Institute for Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (www.efftinternational.org). She is a licensed clinical psychologist with a practice of short-term clinical care and supervision. Dr. Lafrance provides EFFT training for clinicians, school boards and mental health agencies worldwide. As a professor she teaches numerous courses on developmental and clinical psychology with a focus on family-oriented mental health care across the lifespan. She has published extensively in the field and currently supports the research base for EFFT. Dr. Lafrance is regularly interviewed in the media and is a frequent speaker throughout the world. Dr Lafrance has 3 books in preparation / production -1 in contract with the American Psychological Association and 2 in contract with Taylor and Francis. This first book with the APA is a clinician manual for EFFT; the second two books with Taylor and Francis are for parents – the first relates to EFFT for Eating Disorders, the second is a parenting book of “scripts” for prevention and advanced parenting
