ISBA/IAPSS Collective Bargaining Seminar

ISBA and IAPSS invite you to attend a seminar focusing on collective bargaining issues. We have prepared a program that will address a variety of current issues surrounding the collective bargaining process.

Topics to be discussed:
• Up-Date from IEERB: Representatives of IEERB will provide the latest information on statutory changes to the bargaining laws and other pertinent agency matters.

• Using Data to Prepare for Bargaining: Forecast5 will demonstrate how data can help school corporations calculate the costs of bargaining proposals, especially as schools transition to new funds mandated by HEA 1009.

• How Have Compensation Models Changed?: An attorney well-versed in the bargaining process will discuss how teacher compensation has changed just since 2011, and the current laws on compensation options.

• A School's Duty to Discuss Workplace Safety: With the enactment of HEA 1230 during the 2018 special session and the opportunity to secure grants for school safety projects, school administrators need to remember the statutory duty to discuss workplace safety. An experienced attorney will review what the law requires.
