Kevin and Bethany Paige

When Kevin and Bethany Paige married in 2000, they not only started a family, they started a ministry. They've led worship together at Lindenwood Christian Church in Memphis for the last 12 years. Together they have written and recorded multiple projects, and their song "One Love" has been featured in Worship Leader magazine's "Song Discovery vol. 88" (an international music resource for worship leaders). What Kevin & Bethany are able to bring to worshipers is a unique weaving of both modern rock praise material and traditional sacred music done with an original twist. Founded in 1979 by Gwendolyn Turner, the group's sole purpose is to render praises to God through singing. Consisting of approximately 45 members from different churches and denominations throughout Memphis, this group has become one of the most outstanding community choirs in the South. They provided the musical score for an ABC documentary celebrating Black History Month and are also providing the musical score for our Opening General Session. Teresa Bice		Teresa Bice has worked at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY for the past 6 years as the Database Manager. Kyle Brown		Kyle Brown’s 21-year career has spanned multiple aspects of the computer industry. From 1994 to 1999 he was employed by Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, TX. In 1999 he launched Computer & Network Support & Service. Kyle later founded ChurchIT.net to help other Information Technology professionals network. Most recently, Kyle started Youth Intelligence to help parents turn the Internet into a positive tool for children.

Dan Busby		Dan Busby is the President of ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability), an oversight and accreditation organization and a customer of Shelby Systems. A CPA, Mr. Busby founded a CPA firm, was the Controller of a major medical center, and CFO of a major religious denomination. Tom Guffin		Tom Guffin is CEO of Higher Ground Technologies, which specializes in analysis, design, sales, installation, maintenance, and repair of computers, computer networks, and computer-based phone systems. Pam Matthews		Pam Matthews is the Director of Information Technology at Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2002 She left her position at the UAB General Clinical Research Center to join the Shades Mountain staff. The church is a long-time Shelby customer and transitioned to Arena in 2010. Pam is involved in the setup and use of Arena Check-In, helping staff creatively get the most from their data, and in the details of Arena report writing. Over the past year her focus outside of work has been narrowed to social justice and the fight against human trafficking – locally and globally.

Nick Nicholaou		Nick Nicholaou is founder and president of Ministry Business Services, a team of management consultants specializing in ministry management and operations. While in executive service for the American auto manufacturing industry, he and his wife Grace sensed God's call to found Ministry Business Services. Since 1986 Nick and his team have been serving ministries in consultative and hands-on roles in most areas of operations and administration. His specific areas of expertise include organizational management, crisis resolution, and strategic implementation of technology. In 1996 Ministry Business Services was honored by the Christian Management Association (CMA) for its role in assisting ministries nationwide. Then in 2002 CMA honored Nick with their Distinguished Service Award for excellence in serving ministries. Prior to that, Nick was honored as NACBA’s 1993 inductee into its Hall of Fame for his contribution to the field of church management.

Karen Norris		Karen Norris is the Database Administrator at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX. In 2001, Karen left her teaching profession and began serving at Christ Chapel, first in Children’s Ministry becoming the Director of Operations for over 6 years. Tom Powers		Tom Powers is the Applications Team Manager for Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY and has served there since 2003. In his role he oversees the planning, development, integration, and implementation of applications necessary for church-wide ministry operations. Prior to Southeast, he worked as an IT professional in a variety of different industries: health insurance, supply chain and transportation logistics, statistical computing, and academia. He also served as a missionary for five years at a children’s ranch in Montana.

Jonathan Smith		Jonathan Smith has been the Director of Technology for Faith Ministries since 2001. He oversees the operations of the IT and Audio/Visual departments and functions as the Database Administrator. Jonathan was instrumental in the selection and deployment of Shelby Systems v.5 software and then a migration to Arena in 2010. He started in radio and later worked with Paramount Studio's Star Trek franchise. Before accepting the position at Faith, Jonathan worked in the IT department of a human resources staffing firm.

Frank Sommerville		Frank Sommerville is a shareholder in the law firm of Weycer, Kaplan, Pulaski & Zuber, P.C. in Houston and Dallas, Texas. Frank has served nonprofit institutions of all sizes as a bookkeeper, accountant, auditor, tax advisor and advocate, litigator, and legal advisor. Chris Benson		Chris Benson was raised in Memphis most of his life even though he was born in Riverside, NJ. He graduated from Christian Brothers University in 1995 and started with Shelby Systems, Inc. soon after. From his early years on the front lines of support and from training organizations on location, he has transitioned to Team Leader, then Project Manager, and in March of 2004 to Support Manager.

Russell Byrd		Russell Byrd is an Inside Technical Sales Representative for Shelby Systems. As a part of the Sales group, he is responsible for supporting sales representatives through product demonstrations, responding to information requests, and researching answers to product and service-related topics affecting the customers and prospective customers of Shelby Systems. Prior to joining Shelby Systems Russell served for seven years on the administrative staff of Independent Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN.

Frank Canady		A native of Memphis Frank Canady began his professional career as a programmer and as the first employee of Shelby Systems in 1977. Frank started with Shelby founder Ernie Hamilton doing custom programming with the ultimate goal of providing quality software to churches, headquarters organizations, and other not-for-profits. With Ernie's knowledge of church needs and his background in accounting, Frank wrote Shelby's first ChMS software package in the late 1970s for a customer in Memphis. Ken Emert		Ken Emert served for 21 years as Minister of Administration at Scottsdale Bible Church in Scottsdale, AZ where he used Shelby software for tracking people and finances. Mike Gold		As its Director, Mike Gold oversees the Technology Development Division at Shelby Systems. Through the years Mike worked with production, development, and IT at one of the largest churches in the country, Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington, IL. He came to Shelby from Willow Creek, where he was a Ministry Director and Chief Information Officer. He brings over 20 years of leadership, technology, and ministry experience to Shelby. Mike was asked to join the Shelby team in March of 2010, where he is a leader in moving the company forward.

Betty Heston		In 1985 Betty Heston was asked to help the church where her husband worked input 23,000 names into a new computer system. Little did she know then that over 21 years later she would still be working with computers and a software company called Shelby Systems. Dave Heston		Dave Heston served as a staff accountant for a Phoenix-based CPA firm before he joined the staff of his church in 1977. Over the last 35 years Dave has served as an administrator at three churches in the Phoenix metro area, and he currently has the title of Director of Finance for Phoenix Seminary located in Phoenix, AZ. Lisa Horn		Lisa Horn began working with Shelby software as the database assistant at a Hill Country Bible Church in northwest Austin, TX. She eventually took on the Shelby training of new and existing staff at HCBC before becoming a Shelby Certified Trainer in 2007. Lisa then became project lead for the main church in its transition to Shelby Arena ChMS in 2008. She uses her background and skills now with other ministries as a Shelby Consultant.

Alfred Johnson		Alfred Johnson, Major Accounts Manager for Shelby Systems, is known throughout the Southwest for his teaching and speaking ability. Christian Johnson		In 2003 Christian Johnson joined the Shelby Family as a Support Technician. In the Support Department he became fluent in the Shelby program, and by 2007 his understanding of it enabled him to become a Shelby Staff Trainer. Currently he works out of the Shelby offices in Cordova, TN. His duties include training customers over the phone, conducting onsite training, leading workshops, and writing and editing training literature.

Geoff Johnson		Geoff Johnson has been working with Shelby v.5 since 2003 and is currently the Education Team Lead for Shelby where his primary role is developing materials used by the Training Department, both in print and online. Over the past five years he has also conducted numerous training workshops to teach Shelby customers how to use T-SQL statements as the foundation of custom reports. And recently he wrote and conducted a new training workshop on using Reporting Services 2008 R2 with the Shelby software database. Geoff has worked closely with many Shelby organizations to develop custom report solutions ranging in complexity from simple membership directories to GAAP-compliant financial statements, building all of them with T-SQL and many of them with Reporting Services.

Linda Johnson		Linda Johnson joined the Shelby Team as a Shelby Arena Trainer in 2007. Ben Lane		Before joining Shelby Systems as a certified staff trainer, Ben Lane served as a youth minister and a minister of education at various churches. Russell McDaniel		Russell McDaniel joined Shelby Systems in March 1999 and is currently Vice President/CFO. Mark White		Mark White began his career at Shelby in 2003 as a support technician and was promoted to team leader in 2005. He was the first employee assigned to the Arena ChMS staff where he spent the next 4 years focusing his energies on the launch of Arena in the marketplace.
