The National Conference is Keep America Beautiful’s premier annual educational and training forum presented for the benefit of our national affiliate network, volunteers and partner organizations. The 2017 National Conference will be held January 24-26, 2017 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The National Conference gathers together affiliate executive directors, volunteers, government, civic and business leaders to honor and learn from one another as well as seasoned experts in an array of fields. Judith E. Glaser
is an American author, academic, business executive and organizational anthropologist. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Benchmark Communications, Inc., an executive coaching and management consulting company.
Glaser is also the co-founder and chairman of the Creating WE
Institute. She has engaged in decades of research as a
social scientist and focuses
her work in the corporate industry as an organizational anthropologist. Glaser has authored seven books including
Creating WE: Change I-Thinking to We-Thinking & Build a Healthy Thriving Organization, The DNA of Leadership, and Conversational Intelligence: How Great Leaders Build Trust and Get Extraordinary Results.
P. Wesley Schultz, Ph.D.
is a social psychologist, whose research focuses on
social influence and behavior change. Much of his research involves the
application of social psychological principles or methods to understand
and solve social problems. Recent projects include studies on
environmental programs (e.g., energy conservation, water conservation,
recycling, and green marketing), the behavioral dimensions of climate
change, cross-cultural research on environmental attitudes, and
longitudinal research on programs aimed at encouraging underrepresented
students to pursue careers in science. Wesley Schultz is Professor of Psychology at CSUSM, where he teaches
courses in social psychology and statistics. He earned his bachelor's
degree from the University of California, Irvine in 1990, and his Ph.D.
from Claremont Graduate University in 1995.
is a frequent speaker at leadership conferences and conventions adding lots of can-do, high-energy fun to the events. Having served more than 67 total years on volunteer boards and recruited more than 250 members, Cynthia D’Amour understands the key issues association leaders face dealing with today's members. Cynthia uses her experience as an 8th grade teacher and an award-winning manager at Macy's to create a fun approach to developing leadership skills and facilitating strategic meetings. Cynthia is the author of seven books including:
The Lazy Leader's Guide to Outrageous Results; How to Turn Generation Me into Active Members of Your Association; How to Recruit Generation Me; Members Tell All; and Networking: The Skill the Schools Forgot to Teach.
