VIBRANT COMMUNITIES
The 2013 National Conference and 60th Anniversary Celebration will feature the outstanding work of our affiliate network with a focus on vibrant communities. President and CEO Matt McKenna will open the conference at 1pm on Tuesday, January 29th with a keynote speech on creating and sustaining communities that are socially connected, environmentally healthy and economically sound. The conference will offer programs and breakouts sessions that educate, motivate and encourage activation of initiatives that create and preserve vibrant communities.
Additionally Keep America Beautiful will host ten outstanding and connected teens who sit on KAB’s newly formed Youth Advisory Panel. Along with the Youth component of the National Conference, Thursday afternoon’s focus will be on Environmental Literacy. KAB will bring together several other national experts and key stakeholders to discuss environmental education/literacy, performance, metrics, and share plans and long term goals. Discussions will include service learning, connecting kids to nature, curriculum, policy and engaging high school students.
We'll share best practices, proven methods and effective tools of community outreach initiatives with the single goal of better supporting our affiliates and partners. As important, we will celebrate KAB's 60th anniversary of serving our nation as environmental and educational stewards of our communities.

TRANSPORTATION:
The closest airport is Reagan National, 8 miles/15 minutes away from Omni. Dulles Airport is about 50 minutes south of downtown D.C.

PARKING:
Hotel parking rates are $33 a day for valet and overnight parking.
REGISTRATION DESK:
Registration will be in the Blue Pre-Function Room beginning Tuesday, January 29th at 8:00 am. You may pick up any of your awards at this time.
