Learn Six Sigma tools and apply them to a process improvement project during class! Six Sigma is a data-driven approach to problem solving, focusing on defect reduction and process improvement, resulting in cost savings. Projects are customer focused, using a team approach to resolve problems. The methodology follows a structured sequence of problem solving techniques to arrive at a solution. Statistics aid in the decision-making process and help to validate the success of changes.
You’ve probably heard of the Six Sigma deployments at General Electric and Motorola. Since its inception, the Six Sigma strategy has been implemented in many other companies. And it’s not only happening at large manufacturing facilities, but also at catering services, car washes, medical services, printing companies and utilities. Companies of all shapes and sizes are using the methodologies of Six Sigma to reduce defects in their industries and benefit their bottom lines.
The Black Belt class will take you through the phases of Six Sigma: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. It will contain a blend of both Lean and Six Sigma tools. The class is “hands on” in format using class projects and data within the scope of the classroom setting.
Class meets for 16 sessions with time in between to work on projects: September 30, October 1, 21, 22, November 12, December 2, 3, January 27, 28, February 17, 18, March 10, 11, 12

(1) Process improvement/cost savings project that will be done in conjunction with training. Please bring your data to class.
