Know us

Welcome

Join us for the signature learning and networking event for all who care about the future of academic medicine. This AAMC flagship event is unique in bringing together diverse stakeholders—medical school deans, hospital CEOs, university and hospital administrators, faculty physicians, scientists, researchers, physician residents, and students—to advance new ideas by working and learning together.

Plan to Vote Early!
You’ve probably noted that this year’s Learn Serve Lead falls during the midterm elections on November 6. We encourage you to plan to vote early so that you don’t miss our inspiring plenary session, The Extra Mile, on Tuesday, November 6 where an extraordinary panel of individuals will share their stories on how they beat the odds to achieve success.

Through a variety of learning formats—plenary sessions, lectures, breakout sessions, and focused discussions—you can design your own conference experience. Whether you want to spend time tackling major societal and health care issues or prefer to develop your knowledge and capabilities for teaching the next generation of physicians, you will find the right mix at this conference.

October 25, 2018
The AAMC team is aware of the “boil water” notice in Austin and continues to monitor the status through the official Austin, Texas government site: www.austintexas.gov.

We have been in contact with the Convention Center and our hotel partners who have already implemented procedures and processes to adhere to the notice while ensuring the safety and well being of their guests.

The safety and well-being our of attendees is our priority. We will monitor the situation closely and keep our attendees informed of status and plans as we draw closer to November 2. Our hope for all is that the notice will be lifted in the next few days. All attendees will receive a “Know Before You Go” communication on Monday, October 29, however, we will send an email to registrants earlier should there be a change or further details on the anticipated length of the water boil notice.
