Leica M cameras have been synonymous with classic street photography ever since the first Leica M was brought forth in 1954. This program distills the essence of this distinguished heritage, providing inspiration to experienced M photographers, and a solid introduction to the history and techniques that helped establish the esteemed photographic genre that has witnessed and defined our world. The two-day (10AM to 5PM) course provides both morning and afternoon shooting sessions, and topics will include a comprehensive discussion on techniques and tips for shooting effective street images, selecting the right equipment, understanding the hyper-focal distance scale, shooting from the hip, and more. The program will also include a rough edit and review of the pictures taken, and conclude on the final evening with an entertaining, thought-provoking slide show of the images shot during the two days.
Celebrated photographer Quinton Gordon will join us as the featured photographer during this event.

Who should attend this Workshop?
This workshop will be useful to experienced or up-and-coming street photographers alike. If you have ever been curious as to what it takes to make great pictures in the street and want to explore these techniques and get feedback on your photography, than this is the program for you. We will use the Leica M9 and X1 cameras during the workshop, but knowledge of or experience with rangefinders is not required to attend.
Photographers should bring laptops and be conversant with their hardware and software in order to facilitate downloading and review of photos made during the workshop.
