Time: 9:30 am- 4:30 pm Location: CCADV 912 Silas Deane Highway Lower Level Wethersfield, CT 06109 Description: The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Police Officer Standards and Training Council's Field Services Training Division, in cooperation with CCADV is offering this one day training seminar titled, "Train the Trainer: Lethality Assessment Program." The Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) is an easy and effective way for law enforcement to identify victims of domestic violence who are at risk of being seriously injured or killed by their intimate partners and immediately connect them to the domestic violence service provider in their area. The goal of the LAP is to prevent domestic violence homicides, serious injury, and re-assault by encouraging victims to use the shelter, counseling, advocacy and support services of domestic violence agencies. This presentation has the following objectives:
Those completing this training will be certified as Lethality Assessment Program trainers and can provide training to first responders at their respective law enforcement agencies and domestic violence organizations. Law enforcement officers successfully completing the training will receive Review Training Credit as follows: Curriculum Area VI: Domestic Violence, 5 hours.
