Lewis Orthodontic Lecture:
Empowering Clinicians to Create New Possibilities in Digital Aligner Therapy

Brent Bankhead, DDS, MS

Friday, October 18, 2019
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Biomedical Research Tower (OSU Campus)
(6 CE credit hours)

This lecture seeks to push beyond conventional thinking on digital aligner therapy solutions, empowering the clinician to expand its application. Drawing on two decades of experience, Dr. Bankhead’s lecture will walk participants through a “do-it-yourself” technique that will cover all aspects of building a strategy for improved smile design, optimal healthy periodontium through CBCT integration, aligner specific treatment mechanics, staging, attachments, trim line and wear interval to ensure predictable outcomes.

Dr. Bankhead will show not only how to enhance your stand-alone aligner therapy but also how to include cases historically deemed to be ineligible for standalone aligner therapy. The key is an adaptive, doctor-driven approach in which a combination of appliances is used to harness efficiency, improve aesthetics, and yield cost savings. This hybrid approach often offers advantages in which unconventional appliance pairings are favored over all-or-nothing aligner applications.

Attendees of this lecture will:

  • Learn how to orchestrate a patient-tailored approach to digital aligner therapy
  • Understand today’s digital orthodontics workflow
  • Learn how to create in-house aligners
