LifepsycholQoL is an easy-to-use, patient-driven system, enabling your patients to visualise and monitor how their quality of life is affected by a life-threatening or long-term condition. It encourages and empowers them to discuss key quality of life issues with you.
As well as helping to bring structure and focus to the consultation, LifepsycholQoL gives you an 'at a glance' assessment of your patient's quality of life, assisting you to see how you can help.
LifepsycholQoL is being used by the National Leadership and Innovation Agency for Health in Wales in a project being run with NHS Direct Wales. It is also being used with a number of patients across the England, including Plymouth, London and Kirklees.
LifepsycholQoL is the idea of Dr Neil Bindemann, Director of Innervate Ltd, who has worked in medical communication for nearly 20 years. Inspired by work with people living with Multiple Sclerosis, he recognised the need to provide a simple way for people living with any form of illness to visually express how key areas of their life are affected, in order to encourage discussion on how to support their quality of life.
