If any of these sentiments apply to you, the DTTAC Lifestyle Coach Facilitation Refresher webinar is for you. This webinar is designed to assist Lifestyle Coaches who have been formally trained but are looking for a booster training before starting their next or first group.
The 1.5 hour refresher webinar will be broken into three parts:
1. Participants will briefly revisit the goals, structure and key values of the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Change program.
2. Participants will discuss Lifestyle Coach roles, ideal characteristics and facilitation skills used to optimize group engagement and empowering participants towards change.
3. A panel of experienced Lifestyle Coaches will reflect on their biggest challenges with their groups, their personal lessons learned and tips for other coaches to consider. This session will also provide time for webinar participants to ask questions of the panelists and facilitator.

Sarah Piper, MPH, CDE
Sarah Piper, MPH, CDE, is the Director of Training and a Master Trainer with the Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC). In this role, Sarah facilitates and coordinates DTTAC Lifestyle Coach trainings for organizations around the country. In addition, she manages both DTTAC Master Trainers as well as oversees DTTAC’s Master Trainer SelectTM program to ensure the highest quality training delivery. Sarah has trained hundreds of Lifestyle Coaches and is very passionate about the lifestyle change program.
Prior to joining the DTTAC team in 2011, she spent 16 years in direct service settings including a community based nonprofit, a large urban hospital and a rural Navajo reservation. In these roles, Sarah developed and delivered diabetes education and prevention programs as well as conducted staff training on topics such as health literacy, patient empowerment and group facilitation.
Sarah received a Bachelor of Science in human development from Arizona State University and a Master of Public Health from Emory University. She became a certified diabetes educator (CDE) in 2004.
