Overview: In the context of the emergency declared by the province, on March 16, 2020, SickKids CCMH paused all in-person services at its two Toronto sites and shifted to an immediate distance and remote model. Similar to many other service providers SickKids was faced with many challenges. This virtual presentation and discussion present the salient learnings at SickKids and creates a platform for a shared discussion across providers in Toronto and the province.  Intensive services (Section 23-day treatment, residential, in home family support) engages some of our most complex and highest need clients. The pandemic provided a new set of challenges that resulted in innovation, problem solving and management of on-going risks. Join us for a dialogue from which we hope to learn, share and identify best and preferred practices as pandemic conditions remain a reality for the foreseeable future.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Learn about the SickKids CCMH experience shifting in-person to virtual intensive services
  • Share sector wide approaches, successes and challenges in this novel areaShare interest in further discussions as this model/pandemic unfolds

Question and answer time will also be allocated
