Lunchtime Learning: Acoustic Separation Using Motor Driven Operable Partitions

Join AIA|DC and Skyfold for a presentation on the available motorized acoustically rated movable partitions used in interior applications. This course will explore aspects of flexible space division such as structural considerations, acoustic separation, revenue generation, and more. Additionally, the course will cover the differences between three types of electrically powered partitions: traditional, vertical stacking, and vertical folding.

Sponsored by: Skyfold

After attending this course, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss the importance of flexible space division, including acoustic separation, revenue generation, and cost considerations;
2. Compare and contrast three types of electrically powered partitions (traditional, vertical stacking and vertical folding);
3. Describe the acoustical performance properties, available options, and how to best enhance performance; and
4. Explain the structural considerations of these dynamic systems and the impact on the overall design of the building.
