Appropriate Use of Impella for Support and/or Transport
February 28-March 1, 2019
This program is geared toward physicians, administrators and key clinical staff in community (spoke) hospitals who are seeking to better understand timing to hemodynamic support, treatment strategies and patient management in the ICU for AMI Cardiogenic Shock, Cardiomyopathy and/or Myocarditis.
Expert faculty will offer insight on patient selection, benefits of hemodynamic support, optimal support strategy, escalation of therapy and patient transfer techniques. Algorithms for identification, treatment, escalation, weaning and transfer will also be reviewed and shared. Please feel free to bring your own algorithms for discussion purposes. Faculty will highlight quality metrics and program economics.
This course is specifically for physicians that treat patient with cardiogenic shock and for Intensivists, Hospitalists, and Heart Failure cardiologists that provide patients management outside the cath lab. This course is most applicable for attendees that have a basic level of Impella experience or understanding of hemodynamic support devices. It is recommended that a Cath lab staff member attend with the heart team.
