Overcoming Barriers in Single IRB Review

Drawing in part from AAHRPP’s new Tip Sheet and the experience of organizations currently implementing Single IRB Review, this session will discuss how to apply effective business planning and change management approaches to prepare to serve as either a relying organization or reviewing IRB.   

At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will:

• Understand how to apply business planning and change management approaches to operationalize single IRB review at their organizations through case examples presented by two organizations.
• Learn to identify essential policies, procedures, operations & staffing needs that may require adjustments to accommodate single IRB review.
• Acquire tools to create communication and education approaches to support their research community in transitioning to the use of single IRBs.
