Confronting War, Militarisation and Human Insecurity as a Global Health Priority
September 4th – 6th, 2017
University of York
In September 2017, Medact and the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) are bringing together a gathering of people from the health and peace communities to discuss the state of global war and conflict, and promote more effective peace building and demilitarisation as a pre-requisite for social justice, good health and ecological sustainability worldwide.
We will be working with a range of partners to create a vibrant opportunity to learn about the roots of war, conflict and violence; and to find ways to reverse the recent upswing in violence, intolerance and tension worldwide.
Health Through Peace 2017 will provide unique opportunities to network with key academics, organisations and leaders in the peace, social justice and global health sectors, amongst others. The university campus setting of York University will also provide many opportunities for informal and intimate interaction and discussion between delegates.
