Welcome Aboard! Please follow these steps to get started:

 Step 1: Email the following information to Dr. Cooper, the Program Director at in the following format:

          Name:  (First, Last)

         Payment Confirmation Number:

         Date of Payment:

         Amount Paid:

 Note:  Please allow two business days for the above information to be processed, if you have not received a response after two business days, please contact the HIIM Department's secretary at  (850) 412-7863.  

Step 2:  After the information in Step 1 has been processed, the participant will be issued a

             username and password to access the LMS system, CANVAS.

Step 3:  The participant will be able to access the CANVAS system and work on course content

              after the username and password have been issued.

Step 4:   Dr. Gaines, the Medical Coding Administrator, and Instructor for all courses will send the

              participant an email notification providing additional helpful tips on how to ensure

              success in this program.

Step 5:   Participant sends an email notification of completion to Dr. Gaines at


Step 6: Completion of program requirements are verified by Dr. Carla Gaines.

Step 7: Participant is issued an official Certificate of Completion for the Medical Coding Program.

Step 8:  Participant is eligible to register for AHIMA's CCA examination, or the ACA's CPC
