Greater Valley Substance Abuse Action Council
Mental Health First Aid for Law Enforcement is a training designed to help law enforcement better understand mental health issues and how to respond appropriately. Those who take the course to certify as Mental Health First Aiders learn a 5-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
Training topics include:
Seven hours of POST credit will be issued for this training that can be applied in any of the following areas: 401, 403, 405, 407 or 410.
Lunch will not be served. There will be a break for lunch.
